The Rolls-Royce Phantom is the very definition of luxury motoring, from a company with more than 100 years of experience in the genre. Rolls-Royce may have left its historic home in Crewe, and now be under BMW's ownership, but it has been successfully re-invented for the 21st century. And the Phantom is still assembled in Britain (in a new factory at Goodwood, West Sussex), even if much of its engineering and some of its body construction are German.
The 6749cc V12 delivers up to 531lb ft of torque and 453bhp, wafting the Phantom along on its air suspension. Recline in the back seats (easily accessed via the rear-hinged rear doors) and enjoy, or take the wheel yourself - it's a quite phenomenal experience piloting a 19-foot long yacht of a car at high speed.
