Special editions are usually nothing more than a bit of extra kit here and a smattering of stickers there - but the Megane 230 F1 Team R26 is no normal special edition.
It's mildly more powerful than the regular hot Megane 225 with 227bhp, but the addition of a limited-slip differential between the front wheels transforms the so-so Megane into one of the best hot hatches out there.
Ignore the lairy decals - if they're not your thing, they can easily be removed by your dealer. It digs deep into the tarmac on fast corners and throws you out of curves without so much as causing the driver any sort of fuss. It is, in a word, brilliant.
