Kevin's View

Kevin McCloud. Yorkshire: The 14th Century Castle

'Every building project is a journey, this one has been an epic saga, a quest...'

‘Francis and Karen rode out risking their budget and their schedule even risking their own ruin - in pursuit of a challenge to invest this place with such craftsmanship, that even when it's no longer deemed to be a Scheduled Ancient Monument it can still be listed'.

'Now no one else was prepared to do that, no one else was prepared to save this place from destruction. They've fought their battles, they have slain their dragons and they have returned victorious and no one deserves to live in a castle more than they do. They are, well, true knights of the realm'.

  1. Can I just say, watching a recent repeat of this programme, that this building is so beautiful it nearly made me cry when I saw the end result. Well done to Francis and Karen. It is surely worth every penny. I only want to know when you are going to start taking in paying guests! xJess
