You're Fayed - Mohamed Al Fayed

Who wants to be a billionaire? Al Fayed joined the C4 online community for half an hour of grilling questions. Read the full transcript here.

Chat Ed : Hello everyone, thanks for coming and welcome to our live and exclusive webchat with boss of Harrods and billionaire… Mohamed Al Fayed!

Mohamed Al Fayed : Hello and good evening everyone. I hope you liked the programme and I'm here to take any questions you'd like to give me.

Ronski : What did you think of the programme Mohammed?

Mohamed Al Fayed : I'd like to ask you what you thought of it? I made it about my views, my life, what's been happening in my world, all about my sons etc. and I hope the public can see what it's like in my world and at the same time I'm seeking their support.

RAJ_CHOWDHURY : i like you, it really opened my eyes
Springbok : thought it was brilliant
Rahman : Will u run for prime minister?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Me? It's possible! But as you know, “they” worry about that because obviously someone who gives his life to the country and pays billions in taxes over the last 30 years must be a threat?! I do all these things for the country and yet they won't give me a passport! It's not normal, no? Why me? Why NOT me?

mark1974 : Do you think the UK should learn from the US and France and become a Republic?

Mohamed Al Fayed : It's the only solution. They have this elite of power who is ruling the country from behind the scenes and the zombies who have the political power in front of the scenes. It's all encompassing human rights and human destiny.

Vito Simeone : When investing into a club, why did you choose Fulham?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Because I have been a fan for the last 30 years and to see a great club with great achievements going downhill was terrible. I had to jump in and save it. It's great to see all the happy fans enjoying it now.

GARY : What is it that you like so much about England?
buz : what is it about the uk that makes you want to be a uk resident ?

Mohamed Al Fayed : I grew up under British colonial rule in Egypt, my schooling was basically British. I then moved here and had British education, British tradition and I'm liked here. I feel at home.

Matt21 : Mohamed why do you have an outdoor tent?
DJ : Really enjoyed the programme, didn't realise you actually a nice person before tonight

Mohamed Al Fayed : Because I like to live in the natural space from time to time and I like to be approachable to the people who work for me; they know they can come and talk to me in there.

anthony and richard : What makes Harrod's the greatest store in London?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Because Mohamed Al Fayed owns it!

sue : I think you should come to Ireland and we will give you a passport. Mr. Ahern is very good like that. Maybe open up a Harrods in Dublin??

Mohamed Al Fayed laughs
Mohamed Al Fayed : I like the Irish because they have tradition and family life. I've been offered that before but my roots and family are here so it would be very hard.

matthewC : r u planning on being buried in Harrods?

Mohamed Al Fayed : There's a possibility. I may build a pyramid and be mummified and my customers can come and visit me there.

Nita : Mr Al Fayed, were Dodi and Diana really engaged to be married when they were so cruelly taken from you and the rest of us?

Mohamed Al Fayed : That's right, they were.

Maree : When do you will ever be at peace with what happened to you?

Mohamed Al Fayed : It's very difficult. Only when I find the truth and uncover the gangsters and the criminals who have taken their lives will I rest.

Jane Neale : Mohammed are you not frightened for your own safety?

Mohamed Al Fayed : I am a great believer in God. If God decides to take my life I know I am going to live again forever and I do my best to protect myself. I know the gangsters are following me because they know I will not rest until I expose them. The truth will come out, God will help me. I hope that happens very soon. If anything happens to me then the whole world has to know that it was the gangsters who plotted against me.

shia man : mr al fayed i am shia muslim, what type of muslim are u?

Mohamed Al Fayed : I grew up in a culture with so many religions and beliefs - we are all God's children - Jew, Muslim, Christian - we are all the same and that's what type of Muslim I am. I love all religions and believe in them all. I am not any one kind of Muslim.

Kudos : DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN SECRET SERVICE SPYING ON THE GANGSTERS?

Mohamed Al Fayed : We have our own security here looking after us.

GoooBer : HAVE THERE BEEN ANY ATTEMPTS ON YOUR LIFE?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Yes, I have had so many threats. This has come through the initiation of the intelligence service.

Owen : Had you heard of Keith Allen before the show?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Yes, of course, he is a great fan of Fulham, my football club, and he is a great artist/actor and a clown.

fingi : Mr Fayed how did you become a billionaire

Mohamed Al Fayed chuckles
Mohamed Al Fayed : Through God's blessing and determination in life. Education and imagination. Nothing is difficult if you believe in God and you believe in yourself.

H8r : Mr Al Fayed would you ever marry an English woman just to get a passport here??

Mohamed Al Fayed laughs
Mohamed Al Fayed : You want to marry me? They still wouldn't give me a passport - the b*****ds!
Mohamed Al Fayed laughs

Lisa-Zinat : lol
Nicola_McGuirk : i'll marry ya lmao
vincerusso : is there going be a zoo at Harrods?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Yes of course. It's in planning now and in six months it will be in the roof next to my pyramid, a zoo especially for children.

Merlyn : what’s the most expensive thing ever sold in Harrods?

Mohamed Al Fayed : A diamond ring for £1million.

tricky nicky : WHEN ARE YOU PUBLISHING YOUR BOOK, ID BUY IT

Mohamed Al Fayed : In six months time, nicky.

grace : Mr A-F can you still order an elephant at Harrods?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Of course you can, but you have to be very specific - do you want a male or female elephant? Or a crocodile!

Alex bacall : What’s your best car in your car collection?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Alex - my Mercedes.

penny : Do you have any advice for someone who wants to start a new import/distribution business, Mr Fayed?

Mohamed Al Fayed chuckles
Mohamed Al Fayed : Come and work in Harrods and we'll teach you how to do the job.

minaker : do you ever miss the Egyptian weather while in drizzly Britain?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Of course. Any nice weather will be missed and Egypt's weather is the greatest weather on earth.

Prince Philip : do you ever go on holiday out of the UK?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Yes of course, from time to time, different places, Thailand... Scotland is my favourite place. France and the US too and Canada. There are so many nice places in the world.

Tarek Omar : Do you plan to open a Harrods A La Vegas? Matt the Drummer : Mr Fayed have you though of starting a newspaper?

Mohamed Al Fayed : Yes we're discussing it now. We want to make a huge replica of Harrods with one of the most important developments there. It will be a wonderful hotel and casino and shopping arcade. Can you all tell me something please? What did you think of the programme?

KentGuy : Excellent
Zara : it was a good one
Matty : I was very impressed

Mohamed Al Fayed : That's great, Just what I like to hear. Thank you all.

crawford : i enjoyed it

Mohamed Al Fayed : I own a magazine called Punch. It started 150 years ago and then it closed down and then I took it over and now I'm thinking about making it into a daily newspaper.

lawrence : how many languages do you speak?

Mohamed Al Fayed : I speak six languages - English, French, Italian, Spanish, Greek and Egyptian.

mohamed : How important is Egypt to you Mr Fayed

Mohamed Al Fayed : Egypt is the cradle of civilisation. It is my country. It is wonderful to be Egyptian; 7000 years of history. I am very proud to be Egyptian.

ab21 : Mr Fayed, if i had a magic wand and i could grant you 1 wish, what would you wish 4?

Mohamed Al Fayed : I wish only to be healthy, if you are healthy you can do anything. Wealth and power is nothing. If God blesses you with it then fine, I have it after all, but health is everything.

Jack Zacharia : in last Ramadan I watched the series Mahmood Al Masri. Is that was about your life story?

Mohamed Al Fayed : No nothing to do with me. They just say anything to sell it
