What’s the best thing about being home?
Seeing everyone I’ve been missing for such a long time, being significantly browner than most of the people I know, the amount of food I’m currently consuming and full length mirrors.
What do you miss most about island life?
Sleeping on the beach, the heat, being filthy, even lambs tongue…..I miss everything to be perfectly honest. England just doesn’t seem to have the pizzazz of the Cook Islands.
What was your most memorable moment?
The final beach party and when the Tigers won. I’ve never seen such emotion and elation – incredible, unreal and indescribable. Almost an outer body experience without sounding too spiritual.
Worst part of the Shipwrecked experience?
Doing my laundry in the sea. It took hours which annoyed me because I felt like I was missing out on other stuff that was going on. Not to mention the fact no matter how hard you scrubbed your clothes were still minging!
Who did you get on best with?
Carly, Adelina, Anna, Rowan, Char, Keris and Michael to really cut it down!
Anyone you won’t miss?
The cockerels! But I’ll miss every single person.
Who did you fancy?
Ultimately no one sadly. I thought there were a couple of times when I thought a handful of the fellas floated my boat but eventually realised it was the romantic surroundings and half naked totty that was distracting, confusing and playing on my desires!
Would you do it all again?
When do I leave?
Would you recommend it to anyone else?
I would but only certain people. I think you have to be quite strong emotionally and not afraid of a challenge both physically and mentally.
How has the experience changed you?
I’m a stronger person. I’m not afraid of challenge. I’m also more confident in achieving goals in that no matter how high the chances are that you may not succeed, you never know if you don’t try. I now hate showers and long for the filthy days of island life. Oh and I am also now red hot at putting eyeshadow on others owing to the fact that I was the resident eye shadow applier. ROCK ON!
Was being “shipwrecked” what you had expected?
No not at all. I expected it to be far less of an emotional rollercoaster and a lot easier. However, I wouldn’t have changed my experience for the world. Even the bad times (there were only like 2!) I learnt something valuable!
What does the future hold for you now?
Hopefully lots of surprises! Lots and lots more travelling, three times as many gigs and festivals to go to and hopefully somewhere amidst all this a rocking job! I wouldn’t mind a rocker boyfriend either but it’s not a huge priority for the future.
