Episode 5
Eileen has a makeover!
Poll Age (before makeover) = 56
Final Poll Age (after makeover) = 45
Real Age = 48
Eileen Breading used to live life in the fast lane organising celebrity book launches and partying the night away. But nine years ago she gave up the high life, choosing instead to care for her elderly mother full-time. Since then, the once stylish Eileen has lost her way when it comes to her appearance. Eileen loves her sunbed - she toasts herself with alarming regularity and, most worryingly of all, never uses sun protection. Her skin may be tanned but it's also leathery, dry and wrinkled. And that's not all; when cosmetic surgeon Jan Stanek examines Eileen's sun-damaged face for the first time he spots an unusual growth on her left temple which turns out be basal cell carcinoma: skin cancer. Find out more about her treatments.

Andrew Barton, Stylist at Saks Hair & Beauty
- As Eileen has a cool eye colour and cool skin tone, Andrew opted to cover her grey hair by using a cool shade of brown for the base colour, and then added some lighter colour at focal points.
- Eileen has fine, weak hair, so Andrew opted for a clean, sharp, neat cut. Losing the weight from the back of the hair created more shape overall.
- TOP TIP: As we age, oil glands on the scalp function less effectively, so hair starts to feel drier; it’s therefore advisable to condition grey hair daily.
Ruby Hammer, Make-up Artist
- Everyone has a ‘best feature’, and it’s this feature that make-up should draw attention to.
- To bring out Eileen’s sparkling blue eyes, Ruby made sure that the foundation base was even and flawless all over – not forgetting to apply the foundation on the eye lids and underneath the eyes too.
- In order to draw attention to the eyes, a contrast between the eye colour and shade of eye shadow is necessary. As Eileen has blue eyes, Ruby recommended a brown-mushroom colour and this was applied close to the lash line rather than all over the lid, for a stunning effect.
- Ruby used a thin brush and applied dark eye shadow around the eyes, close to Eileen’s eye lashes. Ruby used this instead of eye liner as it keeps the line soft and is easy to apply.
- As we get older, lips tend to lose their plumpness and definition. To create fuller lips for Eileen, Ruby mixed up a lip volumiser with a coloured gloss.
- TOP TIP: After application, mop up loose and unwanted bits of eye shadow by using a cotton bud dipped in foundation!
