Episode 6: Gill Collyer has a makeover!
Poll Age(before makeover) = 46
Poll Age (after makeover) = 36
Real Age = 38
Running a hectic household of three lively children, one husband, four cats and a dog equals chaos and stress for Gill, and you can tell straight away from her face. Gill is in fact only 38, although the great British public think she's nearer 46, possibly because of her jowls, wrinkles and bulging eye-bags. But Nicky and her team are on hand to work their miracles on Gill and her saggy bits, and transform her wardrobe from quantity to quality.

Andrew Barton, Stylist at Saks Hair & Beauty
- As we get older hair becomes finer and drier, so light textured hair products add volume and keep hair looking shiny and youthful.
- As Gill’s a natural blonde, Andrew wanted to keep the look natural, so used 3 different blonde shades to add shine and brighten Gill’s hair, rather than opting for a significant and obvious change in colour.
- A good hair cut is a hair cut that’s easy to manage, so for busy mum Gill, Andrew kept Gill’s hair long for ease and flexibility, but cut into the style to give it texture and bounce.
Ruby Hammer, Make-up Artist
- Less is definitely more. Lots of make-up on a fair complexion can be overpowering, so for black mascara lover Gill, Ruby toned down her look to keep it looking soft and natural.
- Natural blondes like Gill can sometimes look washed out without make-up, as very pale eyebrows and extremely light eye lashes fail to give definition on the face. Ruby used a light neutral brown powder to emphasise Gill’s eyebrows and bring her features into focus.
- For Gill’s eyes, Ruby avoided overpowering colours and used soft muted shades to make her blue eyes stand out.
- Instead of a liquid liner, Ruby opted for a powder liner, applied close to the lash line as possible, for maximum definition.
- Ruby finished off the look with mascara which was light in texture and colour.
- TOP TIP: To create the illusion of fuller lips, opt for a lip gloss – it reflects the light making the lips appear larger.
