Even if there isn't a windfall tax on the energy companies, there certainly will be renewed pressure on them to meet some of the costs.

New research reveals that a substantial amount of the big six companies' profits went straight into the pockets of shareholders.

This report also includes an interview with Hilary Benn, the environment secretary.
