Blog: Blind faith
Massimo Moratti is seemingly losing his objectivity and Serafino Ingardia believes Jose Mourinho is taking over from his naïve President
Inter had a sluggish start against Sampdoria in Week 1, but Jose Mourinho was still satisfied at the end of the game. Although many expected a better debut from the Nerazzurri, Massimo Moratti agreed with the Portuguese tactician.

“I saw a beautiful Inter,” claimed the patron. Perhaps Moratti was the only one to see such an attractive display from the Nerazzurri on Saturday night in a game which could have easily gone either way.

“You can already see the hand of Mourinho on the team,” insisted the President. Now that seems to me like a forceful statement as well as a trend nowadays. Many in Italy are fascinated by The Special One and Moratti is no doubt the most fascinated. He is so in love with the character of his new Coach that he would consider hanging a picture of Jose above his nuptial bed.

So is Mourinho taking over from his new President? I can imagine them like a married couple with Jo wearing the trousers, leaving Massimo to do all the cleaning. Is it possible that the ‘light’ of Jose has blinded Moratti and that the oil baron is no longer able to distinguish the good from the bad?

Gianluca Vialli recently claimed that this Serie A adventure will help the former Chelsea boss to show more of his tactical skills as well as his leadership in the dressing room. But what if Mourinho isn’t so tactically talented after all?

In my opinion the most relevant comment on the new Nerazzurri tactician was made by Lazio boss Delio Rossi. “Mourinho simply does what all the rest of the Coaches in Italy already do,” he said. “The only thing is that when he does it everybody treats it like a miracle…”
